Just 50 km North of Rome in the province of Rieti there is the small town of Selci Sabino, located in the very heart of the Valle del Tevere. In this idyllic countryside setting, seated right at the base of a secular oak tree, you will find 'La Vecchia Quercia Ristorante Pizzeria', a carefully restored country house that looks out onto the green Sabine hills.

Just a few kilometers from la Vecchia Quercia there is the Vescovio sanctuary "Forum Novum", the ancient cathedral of the Sabines, and about 25 kilometers away there is the Abbey of Farfa, the most important monument of the Sabines. Family owned and operated, the Vecchia Quercia will welcome you with its charming atmosphere and warm hospitality, not to mention a wide variety of delicious home-cooked meals prepared in the restaurant's wood oven.

...But the La Vecchia Quercia is not only a restaurant-pizzeria - owners Anna and Pino, have just finished restoring a part of the building next to the restaurant, turning it into 3 splendid suites available as part of the Bed and Breakfast.

We carefully selected antiques and vintage furnishings to give our restaurant a warm, relaxin atmosphere as well as a touch of elegance.

Anna and Pino have baptized the three new suites “Orazio”,”Orsini” e “Selci” each with its own unique décor. Each suite has a splendid view of the Valle del Tevere with monte Soratte on the horizon, which you can enjoy from the three balconies of the propert. The setting is ideal for spending pleasant romantic dinners by candle light in absolute privacy. Two of the suites are equipped with a kitchenette with everything you need to cook and eat on your own, although you will always have the option to stay on a full-board basis if you wish.
